Summary

This position is in the Financial Services Center (FSC), Financial Healthcare Service (FHS), Customer Care & Compliance Section ( CCCS). Incumbent serves as a training specialist located in the Financial Healthcare Service with responsibility for providing training and analytical support to the Service Director, FHS.

Duties

This is a non-bargaining unit position. Position Description/PD#: PD15000A Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorize Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Major Duties: Performs all professional duties related to planning, designing, analyzing, testing, implementing, and documenting all training activities in support of processing medical claims in FHS. Provides direction in the implementation and maintenance of the training programs supporting the processing systems for medical claims and works directly on projects related to the improvement of such systems. Resolves technical and administrative problems evolving from changes in concepts, schedules, technology, workload and methods of instruction resources needed and course modifications. Evaluates the progress of the training program against established milestones, schedules, and determines any necessary adjustments to documentation to ensure training program goals are met.

Qualifications

Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. AND Selective Placement Factor: This position includes a skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to -and essential for- satisfactory performance of the job. The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: Experience developing and delivering training materials for information technology (IT) or software projects. AND You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience planning, administering and determining training objectives; overseeing the development and delivery of immediate and long-term training programs; and implementing and maintaining training programs supporting Information technology processing systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: Resume must include job title and employer name, number of hours worked per week, start and end dates (including month and year), list of duties and responsibilities for each position held. In addition, if the experience was a federal position, you must list series and grade for each position held. Failure to include this information may result in an ineligible rating. A full year of work is considered to be 40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
