Duties

You will independently classify and prepare complete classification evaluations to analyze and determine the proper occupational series, title, and grade for GS and FWS positions.

You will provide expert advice to BUMED HRO staff and command managers and supervisors with respect to position management issues.

You will participate in classification projects such as, but not limited to, developing standardized position descriptions or position descriptions audit reviews.

You will provide information and training to BUMED HRO staff and Navy Medicine managers and supervisors on classification and position management.

Qualifications

For the GS-12, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience independently applying OPM Job Family Standards and the Factor Evaluation System (FES) to classify a wide variety of routine and complex professional, administrative, technical, and clerical General Schedule (GS) positions Experience independently interpreting and applying the General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG) and the General Schedule Leader Grade-Evaluation Guide (GSLGEG) to properly evaluate, structure, and grade supervisory and team lead positions Experience conducting position reviews and advising management on organizational design and the principles of position management Experience delivering training to management officials or HR peers regarding position classification principles, Position Description (PD) development, and effective position management strategies For the GS-11, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying OPM Job Family Standards and the Factor Evaluation System (FES) to classify routine and moderately complex General Schedule (GS) positions. Experience applying the General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG) and the General Schedule Leader Grade-Evaluation Guide (GSLGEG) to evaluate basic supervisory and team lead positions or assisting senior specialists in evaluating complex supervisory structures. Experience conducting routine position reviews and advising management on Position Description (PD) accuracy, formatting, and the fundamental principles of position management.
